TESL Diploma Program

The IHT TESL diploma program offers an intensive teacher training program for English speakers interested in teaching ESL in Canada or abroad. The program curriculum follows guidelines of both TESL Canada and TESL Ontario to create one of the most intensive programs available.

Of course, this means students enrolling in the program must be truly dedicated to completing the course and show motivation and interest in taking the program. The program also requires a great amount of outside classroom preparation time. Candidates must be ready to dedicate a large amount of time to their course homework and lesson preparation time.

The program is designed to teach you the skills necessary for preparing and conducting an English class at any level and under a variety of conditions, quickly and effectively.

An integral part of your program consists of teaching actual ESL classes to international students attending IHT. These practicum sessions will start after your first week of study, giving you a chance to put into practice the ideas and concepts you learn in your classes.

Entrance Requirements

• Native speaker or TOEFL Score of 550/213/80
• University Degree or relevant college degree
• Intent Letter and resume
• Interview with IH Course Coordinator
• Completed Application Form
